Godrej Properties the brainchild of parent company Godrej, shocked the stock market with its fourth quarter numbers. The revenue rose 63% in comparison to the same time last year and 34% in comparison +to the previous quarter.
Though new housing launches have high margins, consequently overall margins will be impacted for the future. Most of the high margin projects are slated for Mumbai and Gurgaon. Godrej Properties is also planning to issue 1.67 crore new shares to Godrej Industries to have its 40% stake in Vikhroli Trees project.
Godrej Properties' scheme of extending new residential project launches and monetisation of old commercial projects has impacted positively. Moreover some of its recent launches are creating good user interest also. Also as per the consensus estimate, the company's annualised revenue growth is expected to be at 25% during 2015-17. This is largely because the company has a fairly solid project launch pipeline.
The current fall in the company's share price has brought down its valuation drastically. The stock is now dealing at just 16-times its expected EPS of Rs 15.8 for 2016-17.
